This essay discusses substantial issues during the 18-month field research in depth. The main findings were: 1) The performance is not just a religious activity but also a celebration of to the troupe members; 2) Zeng-tou troupe is a generous container, providing a senses of community/belonging to the troupe members; in addition, the troupe also functions as a stage for the members to attain a sense of achievement through performance; and 3) Zeng-tou provides possibilities for resisting disciplines.
