The purpose of this study was to seek and understand the lived\u00a0experience of the parents who had adolescents living at home. Hermeneutic\u00a0phenomenology was adopted as the research methodology. Under this\u00a0methodological perspective, the researchers intended to discover and interpret\u00a0the nature of lived experience of parenting and the hidden meanings in the\u00a0parenting experience of these parents.
\nSemi-structured in-depth interview was the major method to develop the\u00a0texts. The participants in the study were 5 couples who were interviewed\u00a0together first, and then individually. Furthermore, thematic analysis was used\u00a0to identify and clarify the themes. After intersubjective agreement with the\u00a0participants, four essential themes were identified as follows: (a) intuitively\u00a0and deeply comprehending the growing of the adolescents, (b)\u00a0enthusiastically rebuilding the relationship between parents and adolescents,\u00a0(c) unavoidably bearing parents\u2019 responsibility on leading and rearing the\u00a0adolescents, and (d) parenting is undertaking role-sharing, complementarity\u00a0and coordination.
\nFinally we discussed and reflected on the parenting experience of\u00a0participants through specific theoretical perspectives and related issues.<\/p>\n
