The article is a first-person narrative of a counseling practitioner\u00a0of her experiences of working in high school. After two years of\u00a0internship, the author was greatly discouraged by her work, therefore,\u00a0opted to hide herself back in the academia by pursuing a higher degree.\u00a0With the completion of her study, she came back to serve again as a\u00a0counseling practitioner at the time when a new policy for high school\u00a0counseling was implemented. Groping her way along with her\u00a0colleagues and with the partners in the Grassroot Teacher\u2019s Association\u00a0(GRTA), she learned to redefine her work as a counseling practitioner.\u00a0As the author involved herself with the project of re-positioning\u00a0Student Counseling Office on high school campus with the Entrance\u00a0Examination Center, she realized that her job and her office were no\u00a0longer marginalized. The significant awakening triggered a series of\u00a0actions and relocations, which in turn helped her to write this article\u00a0after her 22-years career as a professional counselor. The author\u00a0argues: it is the thought that transforming ideas into actions does make\u00a0a difference which sustains her long and rewarding career as a\u00a0high-school counselor.<\/p>\n
