Practice reflects robustness of a theory. Assumptions and\u00a0boundary conditions could be examined in practices. The present\u00a0paper compared two cases that initiated Senge\u2019s learning organization.\u00a0The two companies had the same consultant who designed identical\u00a0intervention model based on Senge\u2019s intervention theory. However,\u00a0the outcomes of the two cases were different to some extent. We\u00a0examined the basic assumptions of learning organization and boundary\u00a0conditions of the intervention model through the comparison between\u00a0the two cases. The results indicated that assumptions of LO, i.e.,\u00a0shared visions drive motives of learning, change, innovation and the\u00a0capabilities of team learning and systems thinking facilitate changes\u00a0and innovations of individual, team and organization, have their\u00a0boundary conditions when practicing. Three contextual factors to\u00a0moderate the success of LO projects founded in this study were (1)\u00a0decentralization and stable organizational politics, (2) leaders\u2019\u00a0assertion of their supports by role model and encouragement of\u00a0practice, (3) organizational culture of psychological safety and \u201clearn\u00a0to apply\u201d. We conclude that an ideal type of learning organization has\u00a0been invented, but an ideal intervention model will be waited in the\u00a0future.<\/p>\n
