Managers in this article refer to people who could manage an\u00a0economic organization or a department with their knowledge and\u00a0experiences in management.
\nThis study is carried out based on the position characteristics of\u00a0managers, through literature analysis, interviews with professionals, as\u00a0well as surveys. The final competency model for managers includes\u00a0three parts: aptitudes, capabilities, and personalities. Aptitudes refer to\u00a0the factors of verbal comprehension, mathematical computation,\u00a0logical reasoning, data analysis, spatial relations envisaging, and\u00a0mechanical reasoning. Capabilities refer to the factors of learning\u00a0ability, creativity, interpersonal communication, problem-solving,\u00a0cooperation, information-processing. Personality includes fifteen\u00a0items.
\nThe test system for managers is made under the discussion of\u00a0several professionals with the direction of competency model. Then,\u00a0486 candidates took apart in the assessment. Results are as follows: (1)\u00a0the discrimination for 81.3% items is above 0.30; (2) Most tests are\u00a0made with good reliability; (3) The system also has good validity; (4)\u00a0Confirmation factor analysis showed that the goodness of fit for the\u00a0system is perfect; (5) It also showed that there are significant\u00a0differences among 79 test takers for different kinds of objects.\u00a0All the evidences showed that the dimensions included in the\u00a0system are key ones to evaluate managers. Meanwhile, the system\u00a0could discriminate well different kinds of candidates. As a result, this\u00a0system could be put into practice in the areas of recruitment, training,\u00a0as well as assessment.<\/p>\n
